Cooling glove

So this has been in the news from time to time over the last few years (did somebody here write a post about this?), but now the product is finally complete:

Essentially, it's a glove that introduces a slight vacuum to cause dilation of capillaries in the hands, and circulates cool water in order to rapidly cool down body temp.  They discovered that using this after a set basically eliminated muscle fatigue.  AKA if you do a set of max rep pullups, then use this glove to cool yourself down, you'll be able to get just as many pullups as last time.

You can buy one for a cool $3k:

OR you can build your own:

Honestly I'm really really tempted to build one and try it out.

  3. But would the vacuumage not override the shrinkage?

  4. hahah it may!

But yeah, it's pretty insane. I'd imagine you'd be able to linearly progress for much much longer, because essentially what they're claiming is it erases muscle fatigue, so if you can do the first set of 5, you should be able to do all 3.

  5. It would be really simple to build. And the material cost is not so much. It would probably be worth it even to make two of them and put them on the same vacuum/cooling loop so you could double how much time in between sets you're getting. Hmm...this is a prime DIY project, it's a shame I'm about to dive into an equally sweet one that will consume a lot of time for the foreseeable future.

  6. What are you building?

Also I think I'm gonna try to build one of these. Will report back with findings :)
