You may know me from such films as Kickboxer, Universal Soldier, or Double Impact. I've been training for 3 years and my favorite WOD is 800 round house kicks for time.

I live in the west suburbs of Chicago. I've been working out since 7th grade when 2 of my friends and I were bored and we started weight lifting. I did a lot of cross country in high school and random ass gymnastics (all those sweet videos of guys jumping off buildings got a few of my friends hooked). In college I gained about 40 lbs eating right and weight lifting (thanks forums.bodybuilding.com). I never made big lifting progress until graduate school when I met a power lifter at UChicago. He just randomly started telling me my form sucked and I was like whotf are you, but since he was huge I took his word for it. Within about a month my deadlift had gone from 220s to 320s. Squats and bench press had similar percent gains. I eventually peaked at around 185.

Fast forward to now, and I work a lot more, don't get 10 hrs of sleep a day, and don't eat 3500+ calories a day:) I'm eat a much larger percentage of my calories from non-meat sources, and my weight is around 165-170. My lift weights are similar to pre Uchicago. My form is better, and I'm looking to learn the olympic lifts, power gymnastic moves, and move further from the "long distance cardio" style training. Matt introduced me to crossfit and being part of this board motivated me to learn more. I'm hooked on the intensity, the variety, and potent amount of information in the crossfit world. My long term goal is to move to crossfit slowly but surely with my wife on board:)
