I learned a valuable lesson today: shit before maxing deadlift. I farted during that last pull and very much thought I shit myself. I'm pretty pumped that there was more in the tank, didn't want to push it after squat PR yesterday. Just wanted to get a better idea of where I stand with my DL. Sucks its probably a solid c-note over my max squat.
Was pulling these with 2-3 min rest. Is that about what you end up with at a meet, Yang?

ReplyDeleteYeah that's a pretty solid pull. You could be one of those people who have much much higher deadlifts compared to their squat.
Yeah, I mean 100 lbs more on deadlift isnt a bad thing I guess. Id like to get 550/450/350 with the understanding that I'll lose some of that while becoming a conditioning beast. Bench is far and away the one that needs the most work.

ReplyDeleteYou actually have a lot more time between attempts. Each flight goes once, then the next flight goes, so you end up with 10-15 min between attempts.
ReplyDeleteThat goal of 1350 total is doable if you up your weight to the 181s, but that's about 60lbs beyond elite level in the 165 class. Also if you plan to have legit conditioning then this will be even harder. Froning has what, something like a 525+425+350 or something? That's a 1300 total in the 198s.
