15 July Mainsite WOD

Front Squat 1-10-1-20-1-30 reps

  1. SS day 3 (took an extra rest day because of 8 mile hike + bouldering on sunday)

    10 min lower body mwod medley
    3x10 GHD situps
    3x5 squat @ 195#
    3x5 bench @ 130#
    3x10 chins

    remarks:
    shin on wall shit is becoming easy to hold in an upright position, gonna start working on holding a glute contraction during it.

    super pumped that i'm about to squat more than 200lbs for the first time ever, 3x5 no less (i'm thinking i should baseline some 1RM sometime, just so i know what neighborhood I'm in).

    my bench is pitiful, i had to pull 5lbs off the bar for the last set (130-130-125). i may try to incorporate bench press into every SS workout I do, does anyone see a reason why that would be inadvisable?

  3. good work on the squats. i see no reason not to add the bench to the ss wods as long as you're not doing them more than 3x a week

    and wtf, you have a ghd machine?

  4. At the gym on base they have one...might technically be a roman chair. But its new so I'm going to try and work abs and/or back extensions into every workout. Lumbar contribution is definitely the weak link in my deadlift chain.
