f my hip

ss day 12. took a few extra days off after last week on account of my hip/shoulder killin me.

1x5 squat @ 205
3x5 shoulder press @ 105
3x5 power cleans @ 125
3x5 bench press @ 135 (last set @ 130)
3 sets of chinups to sorta near failure (10-6-4)

laid off the squats after 1 working set. i must be doing something incredibly wrong somehow, but i dont get it because my form is symmetrical and only my left hip ever hurts.

  1. Jacked up my hands this weekend, burned one grabbing a 3-400 degree pan and ripped the other open yesterday doing pullups. Couldn't do any metcon I wanted to so I did some deadlift work and 5x5 squat. Finished with some headstand shit.

    Probably won't do any lifting for the rest of the week. Playing racquetball tomorrow and will ride my bike for a few miles on weds. Hands should be good to go by the weekend.

  2. Also did you ever post any videos of you squatting? Other people may be able to pinpoint the reason for your hip shit if it's not readily apparent to you.

  3. yeah, still meaning to get around to having someone video tape me...maybe ill just stack up a bunch of box jump things and find some way to put my phone on it.

  4. ya you definitely need to do that.

    My wife ALWAYS slightly shifts while doing squats. If I don't tell her she is doing it, she shifts a lot more than usual. The unfortunate thing with squats is when you are doing the weight level where you will notice the pain, you really can't look forward at a mirror to see any problems. (You end up looking at the ceiling).
